Hello,
Last week I visited your website, and I noticed that some forefcasts
were wrong. Well, the most of all. First I want to start with the
predicted temperatures of Holland. The official temperatures, taken at
De Bilt, was not extreme warm. No: the temperature was 10.1°C, while
normally the temperature is around 10.3°C. I guess that's the first big
mistake.
After this, there is something wrong with your forecast about the period
26th of October - the 1st of November. "There will be a storm". Well, I
have to say that we have the most annoying, boring and terrible weather
we could have: gray clouds, no wind, normal temperatures. I guess these
types of arguments are perfect to change your page of Holland, because
there is no storm, and - if we look at the cards today - there won't be
any storms. And it won't be too hot, if you look at the forecasts.
I hope you can edit some parts of the page, because there are a lot of
things that are wrong on the page of Holland.
Thank you and regards,
Stefan Verkerk

Vanmiddag heb ik dit mailtje terug gekregen.

Thanks for the feedback! We get much too little of that.
The storm you missed did develop as forecast Southwest of Britain and did
cause damage in Scotland. Then it veered off North, and caused only wet and
windy conditions in Scandinavia, and cloud in Western Europe.
Our forcasts for Britain, which we do regularly since 1999, are spookily
correct most of the time. We started doing regular forecasts for Europe in
September only, and are still gathering experiences. If we have an accuracy
problem, it is due to a weakness in forecasting where the weather systems
head after they move over Britain and encounter the continental weather
systems. If this is the case, which is a bit early to say, we would have to
address it by having our data for each weather period fed into a classic
meteorology computer model.
I had a look at the Netherlands webpage, but did not find errors. Do you
mean errors in the forecasts?
We should be very grateful if you would specify this so we can improve.
Best regards,
Weather Action
