In English, a hurricane is an Atlantic tropical cyclone with defined properties. For lack of a generally accepted term, we have used the word "Superstorm" in our forecast to describe the extraordinary double storm event we forecast for 23rd- 28th November. We now have learned that in Holland "superstorm" is understood as an apocalyptic event that inundates the whole country, and that you would call what we forecast a hurricane. We are sorry about any exaggerated fear our use of a word may have caused. Still, this does not change our forecast for a very serious storm bringing a high risk of sea surge."
