For lack of a generally accepted term, we have used the word "Superstorm" in our forecast to describe the extraordinary double storm event we forecast for 23rd- 28th November. We now have learned that in Holland "superstorm" is understood as an apocalyptic event that inundates the whole country, and that you would call what we forecast a hurricane. We are sorry about any exaggerated fear our use of a word may have caused. Still, this does not change our forecast for a very serious storm bringing a high risk of sea surge.

Zouden ze stiekem Weerwoord lezen, vraag ik me opeens af...
Tegelijkertijd is het opmerkelijk hoe ze de huidige weerontwikkelingen koppelen aan hun verwachting eind vorige maand, waarbij ze zich taalkundig vooral concentreren op hun strijd met de meteorologen en sceptici. Wat ik bedoel is dat ze niet de nadruk leggen op het weer zelf, maar op het feit dat nu 'precies' uitkomt wat ze voorspeld hebben.

Enfin, een titel moet ook helder zijn. Corbyn krabbelt helemaal niet terug, zijn stormverwachting staat als een huis...
