Bij Estofex ontvingen wij vandaag een oproep van Félix Bassous uit Parijs. Hij is op zoek naar Europese storm-chasers die dit voorjaar naar de Verenigde Staten gaan. Hij wil er een film over maken. First of all, I will present myself: I am French, I live in Paris , my name is Felix BASSOUS and I am 23 years old.
Since my childhood, I had 2 passions, dreams, goals :
- Make movies and write story
- Tornadoes, leave to the USA in Tornado Alley to see tornadoes of my own eyes
While growing, my desire for seeing tornadoes made only increase.
I thus had the idea to combine my two passions in the same project: to leave for the USA during the season of tornadoes to make a documentary-report on this phenomenon.
Between months of April, May and Jun, I’ll be for 80 days in the Tornado Alley to chase Tornadoes and make a movie for European Television.
Most of documentary film about tornadoes that are screened on European channel show tornadoes in 2 main way :
- Human catastrophe
- Scientific project
My project is different, my movie will show: tornadoes, different storm chaser from different nationalities, interviews of people living in Tornado Alley, business and tourism that are generate by this phenomenon and a point of actuality about the incidence of global warming on Tornadoes.
It is while starting to inform me, few months ago, about what it is necessary to know to see and chase tornadoes that I fell on you. And I find what you do extremely interesting. I just read all your web pages and your work is amazing.
When I would be on the spot, in Tornado Alley in 2008, I wish to follow, interview and film impassioned like you and to hunt and drive out tornadoes with them.
I will have my own car so I won’t bother you. I insist that I won’t disturb your chase, I just will be following you.
My idea and proposition: I could follow you few days and make some advertising on you and your work by the same way for European people and channel. I also would be able to send you my pictures and movies that I did, you would be able to use it for your website.
You will represent chaser of your country in my documentary film.
