The general weather pattern is not expected to change much during this period with low pressure often dominating. Day to day detail remains uncertain but it is expected to remain very unsettled with further showers or longer periods of rain. Often windy with a risk of gales or severe gales at times, especially in coastal areas exposed to the south or west. Some calmer and quieter periods are also likely however. After the current mild conditions, temperature levels are expected to be generally near the seasonal average, often feeling cold in the strong winds. Showers may also turn wintry over the high ground of Scotland and perhaps other northern areas later. Overnight frosts becoming more widespread in the clearer spells inland.
