Meteors Tonight
For the night of 2010/08/12 to 2010/08/13
(all times are local daylight saving times)
Forecast of meteor activity for: Utrecht, Utrecht, Netherlands (the). Created using Meteoracle (http://meteoracle.supercell.nl)
Local Observing Conditions
Tonight the sun will set at 21:10, it will rise tomorrow at 06:19. At 22:38 nautical twilight will end. There is no lunar interference and the sky remains dark for 6.2 hours. At 04:50 nautical twilight will begin again.
Meteor Activity
The Capricornids are currently active. The radiant location will be RA: 21h11m, dec: -04°47'. At midnight their ZHR is expected to be less than 1. The radiant will rise at 19:47 and set at 07:03. It will transit at 01:25 at an altitude of 33 degrees. From your location you can expect less than one meteor per hour.
The Kappa Cygnids are among the active streams. The radiant location will be RA: 19h03m, dec: +50°26'. At midnight their ZHR is expected to be less than 1. The radiant is circumpolar at your location, which means it is always above the horizon. It will transit at 23:18 at an altitude of 88 degrees. About 1 meteor from this stream will then be visible per hour from your location. At the beginning of the astronomical twilight at 03:48 you can expect a visible rate of 1 meteor(s) per hour.
The Northern Delta Aquarids are among the active streams. At midnight their ZHR is expected to be less than 1. The radiant is then located at RA: 22h40m, dec: -04°38'. The radiant will rise at 21:15 and set at 08:33. It will transit at 02:54 at an altitude of 33 degrees. From your location you can expect less than one meteor per hour.
The Perseids are among the active streams. The radiant location will be RA: 03h10m, dec: +58°14'. At midnight their ZHR is expected to be between 83 and 97. The radiant is circumpolar at your location, which means it is always above the horizon. It will transit at 07:23 at an altitude of 84 degrees. At the start of nautical twillight the radiant will be 68 degrees above the horizon. From your location you can then expect to see 11 to 13 meteors per hour. At the beginning of the astronomical twilight at 03:48 the visible rate could be between 67 and 78 meteors per hour.
The Southern Delta Aquarids are among the active streams. The radiant location will be RA: 23h25m, dec: -13°50'. At midnight their ZHR is expected to be less than 1. The radiant will rise at 22:49 and set at 08:28. It will transit at 03:39 at an altitude of 24 degrees. From your location you can expect less than one meteor per hour.
The Southern Iota Aquarids are currently active. At midnight their ZHR is expected to be less than 1. The radiant is then located at RA: 22h52m, dec: -12°23'. The radiant will rise at 22:09 and set at 08:04. It will transit at 03:06 at an altitude of 26 degrees. From your location you can expect less than one meteor per hour.

Dan de guidance:
BEWOLKING:

Opmerkingen:
