Statement as of 3:13 am PDT on June 5, 2004

... Excessive heat warning remains in effect for Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued an excessive
heat warning for today for areas below 4000 feet in Clark County
Nevada... Death Valley National Park... Lake Mead National Recreation
Area... San Bernardino County deserts... the upper Colorado River
valley and the northwest deserts of Arizona.

Temperatures will approach or exceed record high levels today and
will range from 101 (38°C) in Kingman to near 120 (49°C) in Death Valley.

This early in the Summer... people are affected by the heat at lower
temperatures than they are during mid Summer. Children... the elderly
and people with chronic ailments are usually the first to suffer from
the heat. Heat exhaustion... cramps... or in extreme cases heat
stroke... can result from prolonged exposure to these conditions.
Friends... relatives or neighbors should check on people who may be
at risk."

32° op 850hPa, en dan te bedenken dat het gezeur hier al begint als dat 10° is.

grts, Chris
