The coming week should see quieter weather than we've had recently, although during some further outbreaks of rain are likely at times, with Wednesday looking like the wettest day. It will also be rather chilly, with frost developing quite widely on some nights.
The real interest begins as we head towards the weekend as pressure starts to rise to the north of Britain. This looks like setting things up for a potent and sustained early spell of wintry weather during the last third of the month, with an increasing snow risk. Widespread snow in Britain during November is unusual, but certainly not unheard of. The longer the potential cold spell lasts, and the closer we get to December, the greater the risk of snow will be.
