"Single high potential cell leashed N.Italy this afternoon. Multiple
reports of golf-ball sized hail between Gardasee and Padua, killing
thousands of birds and reducing trees to spoiled shafts. Dozens of
shattered car glasses and snapped trees by downbursts.
The cell is now moving ESEwards to Venice lagoon, eventually ending in
the N-Adriatic.

In the early afternoon, first TS fired up across Como lake, Lecco was
submerged by a flash flood. Roads and tunnels were closed. Bellano
station on eastern shore of Como lake reported 52mm of rate in less than
one hour. Maximum rainrate of 296mm/h
