The next 24 hours will see a change in the weather as very cold pushes into eastern and southern parts of the country, bringing a risk of sleet or snow through Wednesday, and Thursday. Overnight frost is also expected to become widespread, and locally severe during the second half of the week. Even London may see a little sleet or snow during Wednesday evening, and possibly during Thursday as snow showers push into the south east. Heavier snow showers are more likely in Kent, and Essex during the next few days.
Next week is likely to start mainly dry, and still rather cold,
but there are now some tentative indications of a change in the weather beginning to develop during the second week of February.
