The disturbance that produced intense geomagnetic storm activity is ending.
Activity is subsiding back toward quieter levels. The auroral oval is also
retracting poleward. The potential for middle latitude auroral activity will exist for
a few more hours, but will eventually dissipate altogether. A middle latitude
auroral activity warning is currently active, but will probably be cancelled within
the next few hours. There are no additional coronal mass ejections directed
Earthward at this time. No additional days of strong auroral activity are
anticipated.
