Still a reasonable signal from the ensembles for a spell of generally less cold weather over the weekend, before the upper pattern re-amplifies allowing another northerly outbreak to affect the UK early next week, followed by a renewed build of pressure. Large EPS spread is evident, with one cluster of members then holding onto this anticyclonic type through the trend period whilst another amplifies further with a firmer blocking pattern building across Scandinavia, introducing an easterly type to the UK whilst fronts threaten the S and W. The latter is consistent with EC monthly output and is preferred at present."
