Als er van downwelling sprake is, dan is het een feit dat deze allen leidde tot een zeer negatieve AO (op basis van 40 jaar).

ALL propergating SSW's in jan in the last 40 years have lead to a VERY strong negative AO signature.-
Which looking at the plot 'suggests' Greenland across to Canada is the locale for positive heights- oscillating between a west & east based -NAO
10 HPA- lagged by 2-5 days to 70 HPA is the key for downwelling-
then the date give or take a day or 3 is the 14th of Jan 2013 for our biggest shot of COLD so far this winter.
