MIAMI - Tropical Storm Lisa became a hurricane again Saturday in the northern Atlantic, but forecasters said it didn't threaten land and expected it to weaken over the day.
Hurricane Lisa had top sustained winds of 75 mph, just above the 74 mph threshold to become a hurricane, according to the National Hurricane Center (news - web sites) in Miami.
At 11 a.m. EST, Lisa was located 585 miles west-northwest of the Azores and moving east-northeast at 30 miles an hour.
Forecasters expected the hurricane to weaken and lose its tropical characteristics as it moved over colder waters in the northern Atlantic.
Lisa, which also became a hurricane briefly on Friday, was the 12th named storm and eighth hurricane of the Atlantic hurricane season, which began June 1 and ends Nov. 30.
