Zij hadden vandaag regen voorspeld voor het zuiden maar die regen is er niet gekomen. Ze bieden hun excuses aan doen de moeite om uit te leggen hoe het komt dat hun voorspelling de mist ingegaan is. Mooi is dat.

Not often a forecast goes completely wrong but this weekend was a good case of it, we thought we'd take a little time out to explain what happened.
The issue was with a frontal system pushing up from the South, there was a heck of lot of moisture entrained in the front and as it pushed North many forecasters expected the band to intensify bringing substantial rainfall. The problem was that the Easterly wind picking up was drawing in very dry air from the continent and it was in effect drying out the moisture as it moved North. There was substantial instability from 10,000ft up, however as the rain fell through the drier air near the surface, so it evaporated and the result was little rain and some red faces. Apologies if you had plans this weekend affected by the forecast.
