Van TWO:

Hi. I'm John and I'm a compulsive GFS watcher.

I can't honestly remember when it started. But it was when I was with some friends one day. We were in this local gang. We called ourselves the TWO Community. It was a long time ago, OK?

Anyway, one day, we'd been messing about, you know, talking about the weather, like you do - having a bit of a laugh - and then someone suggested I looked at a chart called T+180. I was amazed - it was such a trip!

Then a few weeks later someone told me about Level 2. They said "this will blow your mind, your greatest weather fantasies will come true if you believe what you see". This was from someone I thought to be a friend at the time but you will not believe the mess it led me into.

That was it. I was hooked. Couldn't be away from home to miss the 00, the 06, the 12 and the 1800z fixes. I had to start stealing to pay for internet access. My credit was going right through the ceiling. It was getting bad, real bad. It was like an endless cycle of buildup and excitement followed by black depression as the truth came through. I had bad moods in places where I didn't know I had places. Then in the Summer the same would happen with the instability charts, to the point that I was getting seriously worried about my instability.

That's why I have joined Char****chers Anonymous and they have helped me a great deal. I've come a long way from then. I still take GFS, but only in occasional doses. Only when I really need them, huh? I feel so much better. I can run, walk, swim and play tennis, my work has improved, I don't spill red wine on my computer keyboard late at night, the dog-ends end up IN the ashtray and my stress-levels are so much down on what they were. And I'm happy! I go out photographing nice clouds with a contented smile on my face, then go to the pub without worrying about exactly what's gonna happen 12 days away. The skies are once again full of nice surprises, as it should be.

No offence to GFS, if you can handle its full effects then go ahead. But don't, please don't, let it screw you up!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I must hit the pit once again. I hope this flu-symptoms thing isn't GFS withdrawal. I thought I'd got through that already....

Take care folks - John
