This is quite cool! It's a super-rapid scan time-lapse of lake effect clouds and snows being generated as Wed's arctic air travels across the warm lake waters and is produced from a series of visible satellite images taken at one minute intervals off the GOES wx satellite and assembled by CIMSS (the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison---birthplace of satellite
