Voor de webbouwers onders ons: ik moet het allemaal nog eens lezen en bekijken, maar het artikel hieronder beschrijft dat de NOAA zijn weergegevens nu vrijgeeft als XML data. Die weergegevens waren al gratis te raadplegen, maar in een moeilijk ontcijferbaar formaat. XML is een zeer universele manier om data vrij te stellen, je kan het gewoon aanspreken via html, uiteraard alle programmeertalen, inlezen via flash, en ik denk dat het zelfs mogelijk is datacellen in je eigen excel files te koppelen aan online xml data? (maar ik ben geen expert in excel dus ik weet het niet zeker)
