bericht van zaterdag 8 oktober heb ik het artikeltje+vertaald doorgestuurd naar Spencer Weart. Onderstaand zijn reactie:

Thanks for writing. I did not know about this interesting article. Although Arrhenius put forth his hypothesis of CO2 global warming already in 1896, it was rejected by most scientists. The article is the first place that I have seen a scientist claim that CO2 was already causing observable warming. A few years later Callendar produced data supporting the idea, but he too did not get much attention.
When I have time I'll look more closely at Innes. Again, thanks for your information!
