We have overlapping PV weakenings, downward propagation and upward energy transfer that constructively and destructively interfere with each other. This has not only made it difficult to discern the signals that I like to monitor but has made it difficult for the operational weather models to accurately forecast the weather patterns and atmospheric circulation in the medium range. I expect the forecast challenges to continue in the near term.
