NEW RECORD - in low latitude noctilucent cloud sightings! Last night sky watchers in in the San Francisco Bay area, California at 38°N spotted a display of noctilucent clouds (NLC)! This is one of the lowest-latitude sightings ever. Something is changing. In the past 10-15 years the previously extremely rare NLCs have become more and more frequent. Also, while NLCs were mostly confined to high latitudes, sightings are now being reported at much lower latitudes. Research indicates this is a genuine increase in the frequency of NLCs - something is changing. Photo: Scott via @Spaceweather.com - made from San Rafael, CA
Dat is wel heel zuidelijk.
