"Heavy snow has been falling across the Chiltern Hills N of Reading southern UK, from convection associated with shortwave moving east across southern England.
Snow was remarkable for the size of snowflakes, during a period of about half an hour of very heavy snow, the snow flakes were 4-5cm in diameter!
Some of the largest I have ever seen. OK they were proably aggregates of smaller snow flakes, but it was an impressive sight none the less."
