For every ton of CO2 you emit into the atmosphere, about half will be absorbed by ocean (mostly) and land.
Conversely: if you remove 2 ton from the atmosphere, 1 ton will be released by the ocean and the land as a result. (Met dank aan Auke Hoekstra)
