Environment Canada has issued a major snowfall warning for southern and eastern Ontario. Ottawa is expected to get the worst of it with anywhere from 14 to 30 centimetres of snow.
The snow will start to fall this evening, and will linger until Friday night. Winds, gusting up to 60 km/h, and blowing snow will make it dangerous to drive.
The long-range forecast is for frigid temperatures through Christmas, with temperatures dropping to near -13 C.
