Allereerst zonnevlekkecyclus en bewijs of "bewijs." Heel duidelijk: zonnenvlekkecyclus sluit op geen enkele wijze het broeikaseffect uit. Het kan wel voor een opwarming en een afkoeling zorgen. In tijden zonder broeikaseffecten is dit merkbaar, in de huidige tijd wordt dit effect al overschaduwd en dat wordt alleen erger.
Citaat: Furthermore, during the first and second years following eruptions, westerly air flow increases around the Northern Hemisphere during winter, when circulation responds most strongly to climate change, and brings relatively warm oceanic air over the continents.

In contrast, reduced solar output can last for decades and has similar impacts in all seasons. It leads to reduced wintertime westerly flow, resulting in colder continental temperatures.

Het volgende is ook van de NASA (GISS, Drew Shindell et al.). Hierbij wordt (nogmaals) uitgelegd waarom een koudere stratosfeer een krachtigere circulatie (lees westenwinden) betekent op onze breedten.
"The AO is a natural climate cycle than can be traced back at least as far as the start of the twentieth century, before human activities produced enough greenhouse gases to noticeably change the climate. However, because recent increases of greenhouse gases cause the observed change in the AO and mid-latitude winds in our computer climate model, the large warming over wintertime Eurasia may therefore be attributable, in large part, to human activities. Though it takes place indirectly via the coupling between the stratosphere and the troposphere, the impact of greenhouse gases on climate through surface wind changes may be as large as, or in some areas, larger than the more direct radiative trapping of heat at the surface."
Hier wordt letterlijk gezegd dat de opwarming lokaal dus groter kan zijn dan alleen maar door toename van broeikasgassen en hun directe effect verklaard kan worden. Namelijk door een zonalere stroming in met name de winter.

Dus wel bewijs, geen bwijs...in elk geval wordt er deugdelijk onderzoek naar gedaan. Shindell's werk is regelmatig te lezen in GRL en zo.
