ADVANCE WARNING OF SEVERE WEATHER
Here is an ADVANCED WARNING of Severe Gales and Heavy Rain affecting Scotland, Northern Ireland, England and Wales.

This is the first warning of disruption due to Severe Gales and Heavy Rain.
The Met Office is expecting a very energetic weather pattern to become established across the Atlantic for the next few days, with disturbances running eastwards having the potential to develop into very intense depressions, bringing heavy rain and storm force winds.
Winds could gust to more than 70mph, which is enough to cause structural damage and bring down trees, whilst there is a smaller risk of gusts 90 or 100 mph bringing widespread disruption to transport and danger to life. At the same time, heavy rain will add to that already fallen to bring a risk of local flooding.
At this stage it seems that southern parts are most at risk from the strongest winds, with Monday being the day on which the most intense depression will occur. However, there is a more general risk of severe developments in the wider period from Sunday through until Wednesday, and both central and southern parts of the UK are at risk from the heaviest rain, whilst snowfall could be a hazard for northern parts of the UK, especially on Tuesday.
