Sommigen maken zich wel zorgen over het UKMO-scenario omdat voor hen aan de westkant van het hoog er later een verzachting dreigt.

Hi all if this cold spell does come off then it could be one of the most severe cold spells since feb 1991 or the mid 80's!I have to say that this forthcoming cold snap bears so many similarities with the infamous december 1981 cold spell from the way it starts to the way extreme cold and heavy snowfall encompases most of the country.And if the models stay the same, we could see maxes as low as -5 to -6C next week with very heavy snow.Then if skies clear we could see some records being set.It does look like being a freak event becuase it is just so unusual how this cold spell developes and so many of the factors that were wrong and now right.
In any case,I am trying to stay calm until tommorrow night but if tommorrow shows the same things then we COULD see some of the most severe wintry weather in years.We just have 24hrs to go then into full on ramp mode!
