A trough of active low pressure lies across the North and the upper Northeast through the low pressure cell in the coast of central Vietnam, and the rather strong southwest monsoon remains over the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf. Abundant rain is likely over the area with heavy to very heavy rains in many areas such as Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Phayao, Nan, Lamphun, Lampang, Phrae, Uttaradit, Tak, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan and Kalasin. People in lowland and foothill of these areas should beware of flooding conditions in a few days. Wave height in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf is likely about 2 meters, and all ships should proceed with caution during 14-16 September 2008.
