Very cold and wintry
Rain, sleet and snow
Issued: 0955hrs Thursday 27th November 2008
Duty forecaster: John Ejdowski
Driest across the north
The weather is looking decidedly unsettled and often with a risk of snow in the forecast as we move into the weekend. As rain in the south moves north and hits much colder air, there is the risk of some heavy falls of snow on it's leading edge with Wales and northern England perhaps most at risk. It never really warm up too much this week and another area of rain moving in later could be preceded by another spell of heavy snow as it tracks eastward. In general I think we could be in for a very wintry week in places.
