Snowfall causes traffic problems
The bad weather is expected to clear later
Ice and snowfall has been causing problems for motorists in parts of Greater Manchester.
Up to two inches (5cm) of snow fell on higher ground in the east overnight, with Oldham and Middleton bearing the brunt of the flurries.
In one incident, a car crashed into a house in Grimshaw Lane, Middleton. Police said no-one was injured.
Hazardous driving conditions have also been reported in Saddleworth, Shaw, Mossley, Rochdale and Bolton.
A number of motorists have contacted the BBC reporting problems on both minor and major roads.
A band of sleet and snow fell across the region overnight, particularly affecting hilly areas.
BBC weather presenter Dianne Oxberry said it was expected to clear later, leaving sunnier conditions.
