berichtje Reed Timmer over donderdag (plains)

Bericht van: WilcoS (Dordrecht) , 08-04-2009 19:53

A compact but potent shortwave trough is forecast to swing through the Southern Plains on Thursday, pumping 60+ dewpoints as far north as eastern Kansas ahead of a potent bulging dryline. The NAM has been trending upward with the moisture, and has been consistently underdoing the moisture and initation forecasts since last year, so I would not be surprised if even higher dewpoints verify by Thursday afternoon. As seen here, 0-1 km EHIs are forecast to exceed 4 over parts of eastern OK just east of the dryline by 00z, with 200+ 0-1 km helicities over most of the warm sector. If the recent NAM models runs verify, I would not be surprised if a tornado outbreak ensued Thursday afternoon and evening over Eastern Oklahoma and Kansas into the Ozark Mountain Region. We will be taking the Dominator on this chase, so be prepared for some extreme video! We will also have several live streaming teams covering this event! Stay tuned for updates.
