Volgens mij heeft de oper wel een hogere resolutie, maar dan nog kan dat er niet voor zorgen dat de beginsituatie anders is.
Die zou namelijk voor alle leden hetzelfde moeten zijn.
Nu gaat er minder input in GFS06z en 18z, wat een verklaring zou kunnen zijn.
Het model draait op een resolutie van 25 km (per grid). Verdere info:
The model is run in two parts: the first part has a higher resolution and goes out to 192 hours (8 days) in the future, the second part runs from 192 to 384 hours (16 days) at a lower resolution. The resolution of the model varies in each part of the model: horizontally, it divides the surface of the earth into 35 or 70 kilometre grid squares; vertically, it divides the atmosphere into 64 layers
ENS:
The GEFS is run at a T254 (50-55km) resolution for the first 8 days and at a T190 resolution for days 8-16. The model has 42 vertical layers.
EC draait bijvoorbeeld op 15/16 km (per grid).
De resolutie van de hoofdberekening is dus wel significant hoger dan dat van de overige leden.
