Nou die KP waarde heeft meer betrekking op Boulder, Colorado in the VS, dus eigenlijk bar weinig relevant voor ons... Maar wat ik er wel van weet is, is dat er zo veel verschillende voorwaarden zijn waaraan voldaan moet worden om noorderlicht mogelijk te maken... maar lees onderstaande eens... vindt je vast wel interessant ! Maar ligt er ook aan waar je woont natuurlijk, vroeger woonde ik in Noord-Nederland en vooral in de winter heb ik daar regelmatig het Noorderlicht gezien, en sinds ik in Amersfoort woon slechts 1 maal... en tja hoe zuidelijker... hoe minder kans...

EVENT #48 NOTES:
SOHO data received over the last few hours indicates that although much of the mass associated with this coronal mass ejection was directed westward, there was in fact a faint full halo signature visible in differenced imagery. The velocity of this disturbance is very high and has the potential to reach the Earth during the early part of 28 October.
Given the very close time of arrival estimates for Events 48 and 47 (see below), there is a concern that the two disturbances could combine and result in a stronger than originally anticipated disturbance. We believe there is a very real possibility for periods of severe geomagnetic storming associated with these two disturbances, particularly within the first 12 hours after the first disturbance arrives. The situation is too complex to model reliably.
These predictions may be based on preliminary data and may be revised without warning. The predictions should not be used as a definitive indication of CME impact times or strengths and may frequently be in error. The proprietary methods used to estimate shock impact times are under continual development. Caution is advised.
