5. Tijdens het Middeleeuwse Klimaatoptimum was het net zo warm als nu
Feitelijk is er geen goed bewijsmateriaal waaruit blijkt dat het gedurende het Middeleeuwse Klimaatoptimum net zo warm was als nu. Regionaal is het mogelijk dat er plekken zijn geweest die vergelijkbare warmte hebben gekend als tegenwoordig, maar allediverse klimaatreconstructies9,10,11,12,13 zijn het erover eens dat het nu warmer is en dat de temperatuur sneller stijgt dan gedurende welke periode dan ook in de afgelopen tweeduizend jaar. O ja, over wijn afkomstig uit Engeland zou ik willen zeggen: zoek eens in de supermarkt of bij een erkende wijnhandel naar wijn uit de Camel Valley streek (Cornwall), deze schijnt erg smaakvol te zijn.
