A research team led by Fiamma Straneo, a physical oceanographer at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, found that subtropical waters are reaching Greenland's glaciers, driving melting and likely triggering an acceleration of ice loss.
Feit. Vraag is: hoe komt dat. Wat heeft deze wijziging in stromingen veroorzaakt? Overigens eindigen de meeste gletsjers niet aan zee, dus is het geen oorzaak voor de hele kap, en eigenlijk alleen maar voor het zuidoostelijke deel.
